What awesome representatives of DeForest Area High School and the DeForest Area Rotary Club at the 2017 World Affairs Seminar!

Thank you Alexa Horkin and Austin Gonzalez for sharing your experience with us. You confirmed the value in sponsoring this event for students each year. We appreciated hearing about the activities you participated in, what you learned, and how grateful you were to have had this opportunity.

The DeForest Area Rotary Club will be sponsoring two DAHS students again for the 2018 World Affairs Seminar. Students should let their school counselor know of their interest. Selections will be made in March.

Rotarians learn about Books for Power

Gary Muldoon spoke at the December 14th DeForest Area Rotary meeting about the "Books of Power" program.  Through this program that he started with his wife, Muldoon assists in setting up libraries/books in Kenya and Ghana. During a recent visit to Kenya he and his wife visited SOAR Academy, the school in which District 6250 helped provide for a van and irrigation project.
Muldoon also shared information and images of the libraries they have set up, showing where books were donated through the "Books for the World" program.  Our local Rotary club participates in the Books for the World program, so it was exciting for us to see where our time and effort is paying off!
