Vocational Service Adopt-a-Class - This partnership with Mrs. Gartland's 3rd grade class at Windsor Elementary School provides the opportunity for students to learn about the careers of individual Rotarians, participate in a Rotary Club meeting, and to raise funds for an orphan home in Haiti. High School Scholarships - Each year, two scholarships are provided for graduating seniors. International Service Books Around the World - An international literacy project which ships used books from the USA to more than 25 developing countries. Our local club has donated hundreds of books and desks to the program. More information PolioPlus - The DeForest Area Rotary Club contributes annually to the international PolioPlus initiative in the hopes of eradicating polio throughout the world. Funds are generated through fund raising and individual member contributions. Recent Purple Pinkie campaigns have increased awareness and funds! Haiti - The DeForest Area Rotary Club raises money for humanitarian projects in Haiti, including sponsoring the education of seven children each year. Youth Exchange - The DeForest Area Rotary Club helps to support students interested in the opportunity to meet people from other lands and to experience their cultures through the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. | Community Service Blood Drive - Each year Rotarians sponsor three community Red Cross blood drives at the Comfort Inn & Suites. Poinsettias - Rotarians sell poinsettia plants in November to raise funds for local service projects. Road Clean-Up - DeForest Area Rotarians spend two afternoons per year picking up trash along Portage Road. Yahara Riverfest - DeForest Rotarians volunteer at this annual event held at Conservancy Place Park (www.YaharaRiverfest.com). By selling kids meals during the event, funds have been raised for local scholarships and donations to the DeForest Area Needs Network.
